We would like to begin by saying thank you.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated generously and came to join us on the 28th June. We would also like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated prizes to our tombola and raffle and those who donated cakes and treats to our bake sale! As always, we couldn’t have done the day without the hard work and support from our Trustees, so thank you all too. And finally a huge thank you to our fabulous guest speakers who joined us on the day!
This year was the biggest turnout we have ever had for an Action Mesothelioma Day event. The room was completely full! We felt so pleased that so many of you came to support us and help us raise money. It means so much to us.
We did another butterfly release as we had really good feedback from last years event. They looked absolutely brilliant with the beautiful flowers donated to us, the sun shining and all of you there to enjoy them too. The raffle was the biggest raffle we have ever had, our table was completely filled with amazing prizes donated to us! There were some really great prizes too; Fitbit, Fujifilm Instax, Luxury Hampers, NutriBullet, Coffee machine, Champagne and so much more!
Our lovely guest speakers this year were Anne Moylan, Lead Mesothelioma UK Nurse Specialist for the South, Liz Darlison MBE, Director of Services for Mesothelioma UK, Lynn Yeates, Director at Novum Law and Andrew Morgan, Partner at Field Fisher. It was really great to hear from all of our guest speakers, each giving us something different and informative!
It has now been a week since our Action Mesothelioma Day event, and today is the official Action Mesothelioma Day! Our running total is currently at just under £30,000. With donations still coming to us, we are just short of raising last years record amount.
