HASAG - Asbestos Disease Support

Here for you at this difficult time.

HASAG Asbestos Disease Support understands how important it is to continue supporting people and their families affected by asbestos-related diseases during this pandemic. For the safety of our patients, their families and our team, our coffee mornings are cancelled until further notice. However, we are running monthly Zoom coffee mornings and we have a Virtual Coffee Morning group on Facebook. Please get in touch if you are interested. We are not visiting patients in their homes, instead we are doing telephone or zoom appointments. We are still in the office and available Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm via telephone or email. Alternatively you can get in touch with us via social media Monday-Sunday and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please know that HASAG’s support is still here for you.

Counselling Service

How Are You Feeling?

When you, or a loved one, have just been diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease your first thoughts will probably be that your ‘normal’ life is about to change. You might find that you have a number of different feelings and you may feel shocked, disbelieving, angry, frightened and worried not only for you but also for your family. Or you might feel totally different and find it hard to take in the fact that you, or a loved one, have an asbestos-related disease at all.
When you have been diagnosed, your emotions play an important role in your well-being and talking to your family and friends can definitely help. But we at HASAG Asbestos Disease Support know that some people are scared of the emotions this could bring up and won’t or indeed can’t talk to their family and this can lead to strained family relationships.

Professional Counselling

We believe that many of our patients and their families would find it easier to talk to someone outside of their own friends and family and could really benefit from being able to speak with a professional counsellor. The counsellor will listen to you and your family where they feel that counselling will help them and the counsellor will help you to discuss and explore your frustrations and worries. They will help you and your family to identify emotional and physical coping mechanisms.

How Can HASAG Help?

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Mesothelioma or any asbestos-related disease and feel that counselling would help, then please get in touch with a member of the HASAG team who will put you in touch with a specialist counsellor on our panel. This is a new service being offered and will be totally funded by HASAG Asbestos Disease Support for our clients’ and their families.
HASAG Asbestos Disease Support was launched in 2006 to make sure that no one else would ever feel there was nowhere to turn when facing an asbestos-related diagnosis and we now help people across the whole of the South of England, London and the Home Counties.
