HASAG Asbestos Disease Support is dedicated to supporting people affected by Asbestos-related diseases in the South, South East, London and the Home Counties.

2018 has been an incredible year for HASAG Asbestos Disease Support.

We would firstly like to thank all of our amazing supporters for donating and fundraising throughout the year, without people like you we couldn’t do what we do.

During the year, we came to the realisation that we were getting incredibly close to hitting half a million pounds raised for research and support. Following this, we launched our #HitTheHalf. In November this year, after our Team HASAG and Friends fundraiser, we proudly announced that this goal was reached. We couldn’t be any more grateful to all those involved and all those who kindly donated. Your generosity astounds us. HASAG Asbestos Disease Support has been running since 2006, 2018 was our 12th year. Over that period, we have now donated just over £500,000 to research and support. Over half a million pounds donated and so much more raised through fundraisers over the years.

This year we also had our annual Action Mesothelioma Day event, which raised a record amount of over £40,000. The day was brilliant, the weather was great, the company was wonderful. We had a huge raffle, a tombola, a bake sale, guest speakers and of course for the first time ever, a Butterfly release. We are looking forwards to planning our 2019 event, with ideas already being discussed. Expect your invitations around April and May!

2018 saw the introduction of our Uckfield coffee morning in East Sussex. This is a lovely group and we are so pleased to be able to have the opportunity to see more of you by having a coffee morning in this location. It is always lovely to sit and have a cup of tea with you all and have a chat. Coffee mornings are a great place to seek advice from ourselves, nurses and solicitors as well as speaking to people who know what you are going through. The coffee mornings have a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. We have 4 coffee mornings now in Southampton, Portsmouth, Woking and East Sussex. Please contact us if you would like any more information on these coffee mornings.

Last year, we saw more patients than we have ever seen before, going to more places than we have been before. We are always overwhelmed with the kindness of those we visit and the continued support from people we have already seen and continue to help.

Bring on 2019!
