HASAG - Asbestos Disease Support

Here for you at this difficult time.

HASAG Asbestos Disease Support understands how important it is to continue supporting people and their families affected by asbestos-related diseases during this pandemic. For the safety of our patients, their families and our team, our coffee mornings are cancelled until further notice. However, we are running monthly Zoom coffee mornings and we have a Virtual Coffee Morning group on Facebook. Please get in touch if you are interested. We are not visiting patients in their homes, instead we are doing telephone or zoom appointments. We are still in the office and available Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm via telephone or email. Alternatively you can get in touch with us via social media Monday-Sunday and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please know that HASAG’s support is still here for you.

Team HASAG.

Virtual Action Mesothelioma Day 2020

Event Details

Date: July 3, 2020
Time: 11:00 am
Venue: HASAG Facebook Page

Sadly, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the decision has been taken to change our Action Mesothelioma Day to an online event. We wish this were not the case, but our priority is to ensure the health and safety of those who attend.

However, we will still be releasing Butterflies and you can still sponsor them! We will be recording the Butterfly release and posting the video on our social media platforms.
The UK Mesothelioma Alliance will be delivering an hours worth of content from 11am on 3rd July. Be sure to like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to view the content. We will follow on after The UK Mesothelioma Alliance, on our Facebook page with our Butterfly release and videos from guest speakers.

Throughout the period of lockdown, HASAG has continued working to help patients and their families. We have continued to offer support over the phone, through social media and email. We are still in contact with the DWP and lung cancer nurse specialists, completing benefits applications, offering over-the- phone appointments, trying our very best to fundraise and offering a platform for our patients to come together on our Virtual HASAG Coffee Morning group on Facebook.
We still need to raise funds to help with providing incredibly important research and support. The Coronavirus Pandemic has caused a reduction of fundraising and donations due to the lockdown.
The funds raised from our Butterfly release will be donated to Mesothelioma UK and the June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund. Both incredibly important organisations to those suffering with Mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases and their families. From previous AMD events, we have been able to part-fund 2 Mesothelioma UK nurses, Anne and Helen and we are hoping to soon fund 2 more nurses. As well as this, our fundraising and donations to the June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund has led to the HASAG Fellowship, a research project for treatments for Mesothelioma.
We hope that despite the event being cancelled, you still choose to support the cause. The continuous support that we are so grateful for is needed more now than it has ever been needed before.

You can donate online by clicking the button below, or head over to our downloads page and print an AMD 2020 Sponsor Form and send us a cheque in the post!
